79 marathon 3 wheeler
I just got a 79 marathon with a 244cc Robin. Have been told I need to rebuild it. Is the juice worth the squeeze, or scrap it? The rest of the cart seems pretty decent. It actually ran quite well for a couple days before it died.

Also, if anybody knows what rebuild kit this takes I'd greatly appreciate it. May be a challenge to find one. No luck as of yet.

Re: 79 marathon 3 wheeler
Here are some 1980 and up rebuild kits. I don't think there should be any difference and should work on yours but I would call them before ordering.
https://www.cartszone.com/ezenginerebuildkits.asp I'm sure there are other kits out there if you give Google a quick search. :) |

Re: 79 marathon 3 wheeler
The internal starter makes them different. The crankshaft bearing is different on the front.
You also have points, and a lobe to deal with instead of a pulsar with electronic ignition.. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-e...e-rebuild.html vintagegolfcartparts.com/Item/EZ_CylPstnAss <-- copy, and paste. |
