G2 - GAS G2 - ELECTRIC

J38-000101 = 1985
J38-007101 = 1986
J38-020101 = 1987
J38-071101 = 1988

What makes you think it not the body for the frame/chassis?

Can you post some pics of the cart

owner told me the body has been changed, the engine cradle is two separate pieces bolted to the front half of the block the other bolted on the rear of the block.
engine has something electrical in the bottom of the block...assuming oil shutdown.
carb comes off on an angle. clutch has no spring just weights. also wondering if anyone has more info on tightening that clutch up....I can push it in by hand

I also looked on the block for more numbers but wasn't able to see any yet. hopefully when I pull it out of the dishwasher here at work I can identify it.....
why are rebuild so much more $$ than the others.

To find SN, fold seat forward , look in engine compartment at base of seat where it hinges. SN would be on a aluminum tag riveted to frame.

Or stamped on the rear frame member the the rear bumper brackets bolt to. Someone has been into the engine. All Yamaha J38 engines came with a balancer. Probably it seized and damaged the hole were the balancer fit into the block.
