Question jerks when taking off

I have a 1983 club car, worked great but when son drove as fast as he could down hill it started jerking trying to go up the other side. Jerks in fwd and rev, cant go really anywhere, here click when pedal is depressed, should i hear five clicks as pedal is depressed, one for each solenoid. or what

Welcome to BGW! I see you have done some research Yes you should hear 5 clicks though-out the peddle travel. The first click is the master only (closest to the driver's side) The second click is 1st gear just left of the master and so on for 2nd 3rd and final drive.... Best to test this out with the cart on jack stands for safety! and the seat bottom removed for convenience

Could be something as simple as low batteries, causing it not to move or click.
check battery voltage on pack and pot results here .

Yes it can be tested , it is an on/off switch.... but consider it is 26 yrs old and has clicked on and off each time someone has pushed the gas peddle.... consider changing them all out with OEM sloenoids so you don't have to keep going thru this one at a time every few months
