To go 48V or not?
New guy, I've been reading a lot but now I have a question. I have an 06 Series cart with a new 6in Spindle lift and 23X10.5X12 (from Everything Carts, thanks Tony) and upgraded wires (all of them (4G Welding Cable). This cart will be used almost exclusively around the neighborhood on flat ground. I plan on the Alltrax AXE 400 (plus solenoid and FnR switch or just the cam) but my issue is with the aesthetics of adding the two batteries to the bag-well or just going with 6 8V's, which from what I have read doesn't seem to be as popular... It's time for new batteries so i'm trying to decide before so I can start shopping. Any input is appreciated! I'm posting before and partially completed photos before I get ()

Welcome to BGW!
Go 48v. Do it now! You will not regret it! Batteries in the bagwell can be hidden by various methods. If the cart will remain a 2 seater, there is an OEM cowl that covers the bagwell and looks great. |

Go with the Six 8v. It's clean and you will love the power and speed you get with those big wheels.

Re: To go 48V or not?
I say go 6 8V. Very simple install for just a neighborhood cart. Now if you were hunting or off-roading, then i woudl say go 8 6V.

Is 8 6volts better for longer range than 6 8 volts?

Re: To go 48V or not?
I went with the 8 6v because I wanted more distance. I'm ok with using up the bag well space. Didn't use it for anything anyway. I have the rear seat and put a piece of alum. diamond plate behind the bag well to hide the batteries. I love the power and distance!
I played 9 ours of golf each day for the last two weekends and never got below 70% charge. Don't get me wrong. I did charge at the end of each day but that is still a lot of work for the cart. Two people, rear seat, big tires, two bags of clugs, cooler, etc. |
