91 marathon running hot and liquid coming from exhaust

So, I'm still deep into my custom build, complete newbie....

I decided to take it out on my industrial estate earlier to give it a decent run and when I got it back inside, i popped the seat and it seemed like it was very very hot.

Once all turned off, the exhaust was still smoking a little, is this normal?

It also had a couple of drops of an oily liquid on the frame just below the exhaust pipe which in all has started to worry me slightly?

Anyone with any ideas or am I just worrying over nothing?

This is my first buggy so I'm not sure if this is normal??

I would think that any oil from ex would have burnt. Check better to see if leaking onto or around that area and landing on ex causing smoke and other.

It's definitely smoking from the exhaust tip, and the liquid is coming from the exhaust itself.

It was running for 15-20 minutes solid and it literally only had a few drops on the chassis.

Have you checked to see if you are not burning a bit more oil to gas ratio?
You have not mentioned how the cart runs. Does it seem to be doggy or slow?
May have a plugging muffler. Check nuts at the manifold make sure they are tight and that you have not blown a gasket.
How does the spark plug look?

Hi redcloud,

The cart runs fine, no problems at all, pulls well.

In regards to the oil gas mix it's run with the automatic mixer on it, and I don't know too much about that to be honest.

I'll take the muffler off today and see if anything is obvious.

Is there anyway of clearing it out if its clogged up?
