HELP!! G22 stopped running...

I've got A 2003 G22 6" lift and 23" tires and When I spray starting fluid into the air cleaner elbow, the cart runs for a few seconds and dies.
I know the carb is getting gas because I can see the gas flowing through the semi clear fuel line. Plus it will run (in neutral) when accelerator is slightly pushed down (about 10%)

If I spray starting fluid into carb intake it will take off just fine. This is the third year I have had it and this spring it ran fine. then as I was driving from barn back to house it started this problem. I have changed spark plug and fuel filter.

was told by one dealer I needed a "performance Kit" where they do something to carb and alter intake box and use a dif. air cleaner.

Any help??

I would start by removing and cleaning the carb. The gaskets may tear, so be prepared to replace them. Is the "performance kit" from the dealer something they came up with, or are they reselling the Plowmans Performance Kit? If you haven't done anything to the secondary on this G22, check out Don's kit.

I've done the clutch kit from plowman's on first A, 1997 G16 and then this 2003 G22. Ran each for 3 years, no problem until now. I did not do anything to the carbs on either one.??
