good catch Scotty......

Where is the actual F&R located. The handle is in the middle of the cart, but where is the mechanical portion of the F&R? Directly behind the handle or under the passenget side of the cart in front of the controller?

I almost positive I have a series cart, it a 1996 EZGO TXT with FWD and REV at my right knee and behind it are the switches. I dont remember how many pin connector it was but I can tell you it does have a run/tow - maintenance switch.

Thanks

So can you clarify which drive system you have? Maybe you just have the wrong cover on your controller and that is why the run /tow switch is not cutting off the ignition as it should? I'm confused

The F&R lever is at your knee but the back side of the lever ( in the battery bay ) looks like a silver hockey puck ? If so you have a DCS cart.

My apologies, you are correct then. So now Im really confused. This is what I have that identifies the cart. A series cart has the FWD and Rev lever next to your right Knee. If you have a switch on the dash you have a DCS or PDS cart. What test am I to perform now.

Thanks

Yeah, that isn't a Series cart, that is a DCS cart...... Whole different set of rules apply when testing that cart. Don't do that motor test I posted. That test method is for a Series and if you have a DCS motor, that could cause sever damage.

Back to Square 1 What is the battery pack voltage? Why does the run/tow switch NOT work? Solenoid should never CLICK when in TOW? I'm thinking you got something hooked up wrong....

Rabbit,
I got $10 says the controller's smoked.

4runner, just out of curiosity, does your cart have a lift with larger than stock tires? I agree with Scotty and Rabbit, you may have a wiring issue.

Ok now that Ive been troubleshooting with the wrong processes Ill stat over again tomorrow. To answer your questions I have 36.9 volts. The run and tow switch does work and the solenoid does not click in tow. Key switch in ON or OFF position the back wheels want to turn as if the motor is tugging but don't seam to have enough juice to move the wheels. This occurs at all time the switch is in the on or off position until I move the tow/maintenance switch to tow (opposite side). With the ignition switch in the ON position I can push the pedal down and I hear a clicking noise coming from the pedal switch, I also hear a clicking noise from the solenoid but the cart does not move and I get nothing from the solenoid for a few seconds or I move the selector to REV and I can push the pedal and get the same response solenoid kicks in and stick for a period of time and comes back off. This occurs both in REV and FWD.
