Motor Swap on 2002 Villager 4 Seater
I have a 2002 Villager four seater with a bad motor. Commutator is shot on the motor. Motor is part number 102240102. I have a spare motor kicking around. Part number 102775101. Im wonder if i can just swap this spare one right in?
Thank you for your time |

Re: Motor Swap on 2002 Villager 4 Seater
Doing a quick google search reveals that the first number is a GE sepex motor, while the second one is an AMD sepex motor. Should swap no problem. The AMD is actually a better motor with a thicker can.

Re: Motor Swap on 2002 Villager 4 Seater
Jake, it's an AMD motor, but it's not gonna work with his stock controller. It's a 3.7HP heavy duty motor for an IQ plus system. The IQ plus system uses a 500 amp controller and 8x6V batteries. 4 gauge cables throughout. The factory controller and field mapping in the factory controller are not going to get along with that motor. He needs to order an Admiral A2.

Re: Motor Swap on 2002 Villager 4 Seater
Thanks fellas for the response. From doing some reading I was almost certain it wouldnt work but needed to hear it from the professionals! The cart just didnt have anymore torque even with new trojans all around. So the Admiral A2 is an aftermarket motor? Better torque??
