Default Are Powerdrive chargers backwards compatible

So I've ended up with two club cars in less than a week. One is a 1995 DS electric that needs batteries and a charger while the other is a 2011 Precedent that came with a powerdrive 3 charger. Can the newer charger be used on the older cart?

From what I understand, all powerdrive chargers interchange.

As far as charging they are compatible.

The Powerdrive3 relay board has some extra circuit in the activation that allows the newer OBC to detect when the voltage suppression device has failed.

The older OBC designed for the PowerDrive2 will not take advantage of that feature.
