Default Parking brake not engaging on 2016 Precedent

On one of our 2016 fleet the parking brake won't catch. If I push gently it will sometimes catch on the first cog, but never on the second. The shoes are adjusted and the equalizer is set at 2". It is well lubed. My parts book shows no breakdown on parts so am I to assume you have to order the whole brake pedal assembly.
I had a method of fixing the older units when the pin rounded off but I am lost on these units.
Any help or a picture of breakdown of the 2016 unit would really be appreciated.
Harry
PS I took another look at the assembly while still in the cart. I removed the plastic cover plate from the brake / go pedal and took a look inside with a light and mirror. It looks quite simple. A wheel with a double row of cogs (large and small) and a pawl with double set of teeth (maybe only single, hard to see). The wheel is very loose on the shaft and can go sideways about 1/8th inch. If I hold it away from the pawl the park brake will latch on first and second catch. I guess the shaft that the wheel turns on is wore down or the wheel bore has worn so it looks like I will have to replace the whole brake pedal assembly.
I would still like some input and a picture of the unit broken down.

I have similar wear on one of my 2014s.

The part that usually causes the problem is the pawl assembly, which is actually bolted to the accelerator pedal. The pawl wears and rounds off on the edge so the cams on the brake wheel don’t catch on it. The two I have, I replaced the pawl assemblies and then took a dremel to the cams on the wheel and notched them flat so the pawl has a large positive engagement point on the wheel. They will just wear down again I’m sure, but for now they work quite well.

Called the brake lock mechanism: https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/p...recedent-gen-2

Fairtax;
That is the older style. The 2016 is entirely different. That style I fixed by driving the pin back into the plastic housing about 1/4" and the pawl would catch new meat and work fine.
Hopefully someone else has worked on the new style. My parts book does not have a breakdown so I assume you have to order the whole park brake assembly.

HarryT,

The link FairTax posted is definitely not the old style. It's for the new style used from 2008.5 and is still in production today. Can you post pics of your pedal assembly from your 2016? That'll clear up any confusion.

My bad!!
I was looking at the assembly while in the cart. I pulled it out and it does have the same part fairtax showed. I don't know how to post pictures here but I will email them to tahoe dawg if thats OK.
The pictures will show how off center that part is coming out of the gas peddle.
It is tight in the pedal assembly so something must be bent internally. I don't think it should be that far out of line. Is there something like a spring that is supposed to be on the black plastic tang on the part shown in the picture when it is fully assembled or does that tang do nothing?
The big gear teeth are worn from that being off center but that don't look like it can be replaced. It looks like replacement of throttle and brake assemblies.
Do you stock them and if so, how much?
I apologize for not checking further before I said anything;

The outer section of he lock mechanism wears around the stainless steel pivot shaft in the center, and causes the outer section to rest off center/crooked like that. The new lock mechanism is tight there, but still pivots.
The tang is necessary to allow the pawl to ratchet over the cams on the wheel. The tang can wear or bend and causes poor return of the pawl towards the wheel, which makes it less able to stay engaged, especially when the top corner of the pawl is worn down round, instead of being squared off.

This is why I took a dremel to the cam notches on the brake wheel on mine. The wheel still has play, but it doesn't affect the locking of the mechanism as long as the front edges of the cams are squared up properly against the pawl.

I remembered I had a gas pedal assembly that I took off a cart that someone broke the plastic pedal off of. It had a good 103777601 on it, so I swapped it out and everything lined up and all is well.
Thanks for all the help;
Harry

Glad you got it fixed, but to clarify, www.revolutiongolfcars.com is a web address. It's not my email address. My email address is info@revolutiongolfcars.com

Has anyone ground off the peened end of the bar that the big wheel rolls on. so you can do a better job of grinding sharp edges on the wheel, then tack welding the end.
I now have a couple of the fleet not catching. I have 5 months to go on the lease and just want to make them work until we trade them in.
