Default MCOR Issue?

96 DS, 48v, brand new batteries. Cart accelerates fine up until about 3/4 pedal. Then there is no no speed increase after that. from 3/4 to full pedal doesnt change the speed at all. Seems like it just wont hit top speed. Could this be the MCOR?

A 96 doesn't have an MCOR unless someone has converted it. An MCOR would be a black plastic box attached to the outside of the Passenger frame rail under the floor adjacent the pedals.
More likely that cart has a Multi-step pot or V-glide pot assembly which is a black pie-wedge shape on the Inner Driver side frame rail in the battery compartment below the charge receptacle.

Is your cart a series cart with a big Lever for FnR or a Regen cart with a small rocker switch FnR?

Fairtax, thanks for the reply. Its a series with the lever. There is a black box under the passenger side floor mounted to the frame rail. It has a rod that goes from it straight across to the accelerator. Where it hooks to the peddle assembly it is kinda forked. Cant remember if the other end is star shaped or D shaped.

Then that's an MCOR and has certainly been converted.

What is your pack voltage when the cart is moving? Usually a bad MCOR will cause it to cut out or shudder/jerk around. It can cause what you describe, but so will low battery voltage if you have a battery going bad.

Do you know what controller is in the cart?

Since it is a 96 model it may be an original CVP (pot box) and not an MCOR:

I will check voltage when I get back there this weekend. Just assumed it would be good since I just put them in 2 months ago. ( I know, I shouldnt assume).
Will also check controller.
