Default Trojan 105 top post stripped fix?

After enough wear and tear, this threaded post has stripped out inside.
After I find a way to take this nut off, what are some recommended ways to repair this?
Loosening or tightening, it's free-spinning.
Does the post screw down onto a plate? Is it connected to another piece inside?
Do I have to replace?
Any help will be appreciated!

I'm sure someone has a fix for this...but we are a dealer and send them in like this to our battery dealer who charges $25 for this fix...So that's one option rather than replacing a $110 battery and having mixed-matched batteries in your cart- which always starts a process of this battery goes bad and charges different than this one and causes nightmares down the road IMO

can you get this style clamp around the whole thing / or the post beside it ?....you can also drill/tap/thread (carful ! not to deep ) and bolt it ....might have been a tad loose , looks like it got a little warm....
