Where to find 12V?
Total newbie here, so forgive me if this has been covered to death. I would like to add some switched lighting (waterproof LEDs) and add a 12v outlet on my '02 DS 48v electric. I would prefer not to tap into my lighting system if it can be avoided. Is there another spot to get 12V?

Re: Where to find 12V?
An 02 DS would have a 16 to 12v reducer basically tapping power off the 2 batteries under the drivers seat. There should be a small block of 12v connections in front of the batteries where you can tie in.
However - this is not the recommended way to get 12v. By drawing off of just 2 of the batteries the potential exists to create an imbalance in the pack which will shorten the useful of all the batteries. Best to use a 48 to 12 volt reducer. Find a quality high amperage type with on/off feature so it will not deplete the pack when the cart just sits. |
