Default Does a cracked speed sensor magnet work ok?

I'm curious if the magnet in SWMBO's Precedent is a speed magnet or not. I have an OEM magnet that I took out of a different cart, but it fell and is cracked. My plan was to swap magnets and see what happens, but don't want to shoot myself in the foot. Is the cracked magnet usable? Is there a different way to check the magnet in the motor now?

I don’t think I’d try and remove it. If it comes out anything like mine did, it came out in pieces because it was pretty well seized to the housing. I had to beat it out with a slide hammer

Which magnet did you have? Some of them are pressed on and will self destruct when you remove it, but others (the top hat style speed sensor) just pop on and off.

Don’t remember honestly. It is on my 2008 IQ with GE motor. I read about using a paint can key and other things... the magic trick for me was a paint can key welded to a slide hammer. Nothing else was even close to working. It didn’t come out in one piece lol

I tried the paint can keys too and destroyed two of them before the third one budged it. Once it budged, shorty screwdrivers finished the job. And yes, lots of little pieces.
