Re: 2006 Precedent--Refurbish/upgrade or Buy New?
Here is s few pics of a 2007 DS just reworked from ground up. 4" Allsports Lift, new shocks all around, new rear leafs, custom overhead aluminum tray with USB and speedometer, dual overhead fans, Ausco disc brakes, DoubleTake Body and dash, Suite Seats, XCT500, PQ Executioner amd 14 Module Leaf Lithium pack. Total in cart including my rebuild for customer is $8400. Tires are 23x10 Street Fox with very smooth ride. 35mph all day long.
So, keep the cart and rebuild. But be patient when you start ordering parts. Body was 7 weeks, All Sports lift kit, 11 wks. etc |

if you can buff out a cobra you can make a plastic windshield look new again
start fine and go finer, takes 20 minutes |

Re: <2006 Gold Standard (DS?) --Refurbish/upgrade or Buy New?
Starting to figure a few things out. Thanks to all of you that have provided input and guidance.
First, the title for this thread is incorrect--my cart is a refurbished 2006 Gold Standard, which I think is a DS of a few years prior. It is not a Precedent. It does have the IQ drive, and regenerative braking. I am leaning heavily toward rebuilding my existing cart. Below are the updates/mods I'm planning. 1. AC conversion--Navitas AC Drive Conversion Kit, 440A Controller w/ 4KW Motor, 2 AWG wiring, heavy-duty solenoid. 2. 48v/100ah LiFePO3 Battery Pack with 58.4 9amp Charger (Extreme Team) 3. New windshield (I said I built a Cobra, I did not prep or paint it so will replace the windrather than try to recondition it) Hopefully it will last another 14 years. 4. Dual 12V USB outlets 5. New seat of some sort--still deciding and trying to understand fabric availability 6. Bigger cooler 7. LED headlight, taillight, and turn signals I wouldn't mind new wheels and tires (I'm thinking 10"), but I'm not finding zero offset wheels which would be my preference. I may just keep the 8" wheels as I like the cushy ride on the golf course, over curbs, etc. What recommendations do you have for a good turf tire that will not get me in trouble with the course superintendent? What recommendations do folks have for 120V AC inverters? What guidance do folks have for setting up acceleration, regen, and speed for golf course use? Thanks, Evan |

Re: 2006 DS? -- Refurbish/upgrade or Buy New?
"Gold Standard" is a cart remanufactured by Club Car.
Yours is still a DS, It's an older (maybe 2001 to 2003) cart, but updated in 2006. |

You'll have to do your own research to see if this can handle your model of freezer. |

Re: 2006 Precedent--Refurbish/upgrade or Buy New?
Yeah I think the 2kw version would be plenty big. I don't have a generator, but do have a Tesla Powerwall that is good to back up most critical things in the house for about 18 hours. Somehow we missed wiring up our upright freezer to the Powerwall, though. The freezer keeps everything frozen for at least 2 days, but it would be nice to use the cart battery if necessary. It doesn't take much spoiled meat to pay for a backup solution.
