Re: EZGO TXT PDS Motor Upgrade DIY
Regardless of how you support it, if it's been on there for a decade, it will likely take some wiggling and maybe even a few taps with a mallet to break it loose.
When I did mine, I didn't realize there was a rubber "bumper" that is removed from the inside the old motor shaft and placed in the new motor shaft, which eliminates any possible slop between the input shaft and the motor shaft. |

Re: EZGO TXT PDS Motor Upgrade DIY
My last one I removed the lower shock bolts and the two lower shackle bolts and just dropped the entire rear. Sitting on jack stands of course.. Whole thing just swings down.

Re: EZGO TXT PDS Motor Upgrade DIY
Wasn't a big deal and like was said, it is just another cat...... If you really get creative 4 bolts, 4 wires, 2 brake cables and 2 shock nuts and the entire rear will come out

EZGO TXT PDS Motor Upgrade DIY
I think if I practiced my technique enough, I could probably have the motor uninstalled and reinstalled in 10-15 minutes flat.

Great write Urogator. Sounds like that motor will run cooler. Your EX-RAY temp. Wire will read closer to reality if hooked to back of motor, cheap HF laser is a good backup, cheap to with there 25% off coups. Florida and heat is tuff on these PDS motors.

Re: EZGO TXT PDS Motor Upgrade DIY
Thanks! You mean I should attach the temp probe to the rear (ventilated) part of the motor instead of the center of the housing (like you have on your cart)?

Center that is where it is the hottest on field bolt, I just meant rear end of cart side of motor.

I attached the temp probe to the top and center of the motor with the supplied aluminum tape because I was afraid to remove the bolt on the motor like you have yours attached to. I didn't know if something would fall off on the inside of the motor that I could not get to. Is it OK to just remove the bolt to attach the temp probe? |
