Good news is the stock PDS control will bring 150.00 on fleabay.
The bad news is that if you wait for the stock motor to fail with the new Alltrax it will a 50/50 chance of taking the Alltrax out with it. Most people are real happy with the 400DCX and the stock motor or 500DCX and D&D502 motor.
Johnnie and I are both running 42v in our PDS. Both have different D&D motors and Johnnie has 500a where I use the 400.

Of course everything lasts longer if you don't drive like a ......

There might be a grain of truth in that statement.

I would love to have a foil hat and sometimes feel the need for one, but I'm too paranoid that somebody would sit on and crush it when I wasn't wearing it!

720, I've got the #808 pkg. from ScottyB. When I got it I had the stock motor and now I've changed motors and trying to save up for the #909 pkg., You'll be happy with either one, the 400 works fine with a different motor, I just want to tinker a little bit more.

Thanks for the heads up! I'm trying to subscribe to the buy once not often line of thinking. I'll hopefully order 909 and 2 ga cables by the end of the week then hopefully pony up for a new motor in the Spring. That should give me enough time to ebay enough crap out of the basement to fund the motor!

My batteries probably have another 3 years or so left in them and when they give up, I'm going 48v. The goal was just to not spend all the money at one time! I can't imagine explaining 6 new 8v batteries, charger, controller, motor and cables to the CFO all at once! It is easier to save for and sneak it all through incrementally.
