Problems caused by wrong solenoid resistor?
Ok, quick question... I'm sitting here reading on BGW and just realized that I forgot to change from the 250 ohm to 470 ohm resistor on my SD solenoid when I converted my '09 PDS from 36V to 48V. I'm going to change it tomorrow, but wondering if any damage would have been done? I drove it that way for about 2 weeks - probably only about 25 miles. What are the effects of this? Will it change the performance of the cart for the worse or better?

Re: Problems caused by wrong solenoid resistor?
I dont even see any point in changing it, i know of no reason it could cause any harm. If anyone on here can tell you and i why to even worry about it (besides "that is what everyone says to use"), im all ears. I think it will offer the same protection to the solenoid contacts (its only job anyway), it will not enhance or reduce performance in any way. I ran the same resistor from my marathon on 48v with no problem (i also ran the 36v solenoid too, but that could eventually cause a heat related failure of the coil in the solenoid, never failed for me though).
