Well, I dont think it was the battery. I'm 200mi away on Ocracoke and the cart died on the way to dinner. Got it jumped and took it back to the house to get the truck.

Where should I be looking now? Volt reg or starter/gen?

Could be a vr issue or sg or wiring. Put it in neutral on stands and start checking voltage

Probably the voltage regulator. Connect a voltmeter to the battery. Start it in maintenance mode, and use a jumper wire to ground the DF terminal (small yellow wire) of the starter gen to the case. Slowly increase the engine speed and see if the voltage output goes up. It should increase to well over 15V as engine speed goes up.
If the voltage does increase with the DF terminal grounded the regulator is bad.
If the voltage does not increase or gets lower the SG has an internal problem, possibly worn brushes, but would require removal for inspection.

Well I tested the starter/gen and it is good. What voltage should I be seeing at the battery when the cart is running? I swapped out the voltage reg with another one I had in a box that came with the cart and I'm thinking that it is bad as well. I'm only seeing 12.6V with the cart running full throttle.
