'99 Club Car DS exhaust getting loud
I've had this cart for a few years and lately it seems to be getting louder. It seems to have increased gradually and today my Wife says why is it so loud? It didn't used to be. I think she's right. Is there a common place to start looking? An exhaust gasket or something? Kind of hard to diagnose while driving and sitting on the seat covering the engine.

On the back of the shifter is a yellow knob. Pull it out and turn it 180°. This puts it in service mode and allows you to run the engine with it in neutral so you can listen
When its I'm that mode it wont run in forward or reverse. To drive the cart again pull it out and flip it 180° back where it came from. |

Most of the time the exhaust pipe rusts out near the welds that hold the heat shield on. Usually can be patched up by an experienced welder and get a few more years out of it. Worst case you need a new muffler assembly, which is around $300 last I checked.
