You need to check the valve clearance. The oil won't matter

Yes, good idea, they are .028. Put the old plugs back in, no better. The interesting part is the new ones are 4s and the ones that can in it from the golf course where #2 heat range????

Tried to set the clearance tonight The two outside valves, no problem. the two middle ones will not adjust to 4K,,,there is zero! That is why their adjusting screws where out so much, no adjustment left & spring washers rubbing on rocker arm! Would this give the low compression???

You will have to change the intake valves. I bet your air breather sucks air from under the seat. The dust on cart paths rolls under the seat and the engine keeps sucking it in. I have changed many of them. Just put new valve in and don't worry too much about the valve seat, it seems to be way harder than the valve. I used to be able to do it in about 1 1/2 hours, but I'm not as good as I used to be.

Thanks, I will get them ordered. Is the head gasket the only gasket I will need?

The gaskets on the carb could be re used if you are very careful when taking them off. You will have to take a cover off to get the camshaft out and the exhaust manifold off too. Those gaskets are usually cooked on pretty good and it might be a good idea to have a new one handy. The head gasket will have an "up" punched out of it to tell which way it goes. Good luck

The two intake valves are completely toast, they can go up into the valve seat!
