Check your engine mounts!
To anyone having trouble pulling hills, or performance issues in general where your engine sounds ok but the cart just isn't doing it's thing properly, check out your engine mounts.
Today my wife had the cart out picking blackberries. With the cart you don't have to walk all those little goat paths where they seem to like growing. She got home to unload, mix some fuel, and went to take off but as she was going up the hill I heard the cart kind of struggling and she was on and off the throttle. Sure enough she rolled back into the driveway. I took it for a spin with the rear cover off and watched the CVT. It didn't seem to be downshifting properly. Upon further investigation, the rear passenger side engine mount had kicked the bucket. I riveted the new one in and the cart works fine now. My theory is that the mount was allowing the engine to shift closer towards the driven clutch and making it act as if it had a longer belt on. |
