ezgo TXT gas exhaust valve spring retainer
Our 1997 TXT gas with Robin de29 engine suddenly lost power. After removing the valve cam cover I discovered the broken exhaust valve spring retainer on the left cylinder.
Does the cylinder need to be removed to repair this ? Or is this a simple repair? Any advice would be appreciated Thanks W Long |

Re: ezgo TXT gas exhaust valve spring retainer
Can you get to the valve? If so, put it back together and check the compression.

Re: ezgo TXT gas exhaust valve spring retainer
If you can slide the rocker arm over where you can access the valve stem you should be able to install a new retainer and locks. Those valve springs are pretty soft and you should be able compress them by hand.
You may need to put some compressed air into the cylinder to hold the valve shut. |
