93 ezgo 4 stroke smells like gas fumes

My 93 ezgo 295 is freshly rebuilt. Carb is clean. Valves are adjusted. Cleaned fuel tank. Seems to run good but smokes when you take off or drive slowly. Smells like fuel smoke and really stinks and burns your eyes when you drive down road. I appreciate Any help. Thanks

what color is the smoke? blue or white?
Were the pistons/ rings replaced during the rebuild? if so maybe yours is smoking because the rings just need to seat. and until then it will smoke. My 94 4-stroke did that after the rings/pistons were replaced. from what ive been told it will stop smoking as the rings seat. *just going off of what ive been told so i could be wrong*

Yes it has new pistons rings rods and everything. Bored 50mm oversize. Never built any golf cart engine but have built hundreds of automobile engines. I was very careful to read all instructions in the rebuild manual I downloaded. It may just need to seat rings. I'm not sure. But I still am wandering about the gas smell. Very rich smelling. Color I think is blue smoke. Ill double check that. Haven't really paid attention to the color yet.

No problem, sorry i couldnt provide a more straight forward answer/ solution. if the smoke is blue i believe i read somewhere that it means its burning oil? hopefully someone else will chime in.
