Should I upgrade from 36volt to 48 on txt?
I just purchased a 2009 EZgo txt that was supposed to be 48 volts. As I was uneducated in these I didn’t realize that it was 36. Also, it seemed to run fine but the first time I took it up a hill it lost power. Took it to the local repair shop and they are replacing batteries. Looks like I may change the motor and controller as well. They are getting me prices on the difference in price on 36volt vs 48v components.
Will it be worth it to upgrade to 48v? This unit will be used primarily to take the place of my Honda rancher for hunting and general farm upkeep. Any thoughts here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

That’s one of the best upgrades you can do. Huge improvement in speed and torque. Don’t forget you’ll need a new charger as well. [emoji1303]

Re: Should I upgrade from 36volt to 48 on txt?
Yes! 36v is not only an obsolete operating voltage but, it is incorrect for this cart if it was originally 48v.
But wait ! Before you let somebody sell you stock 48v components take a long look at the alternatives. Hundreds of people are opting for aftermarket controllers, solenoids, and motors to improve STOCK performance. In my opinion you will be kicking yourself if you buy stock. See Alltraxinc.com |

I have done many, many 48v conversions, no one ever told me "I sure wish I stayed at 36v". Also, another vote to skip right by the stock parts & get the better stuff.

Exactly - After suggesting that hundreds of people upgrade from 36 to 48v not one customer has come back and expressed regret... it's just that good

Re: Should I upgrade from 36volt to 48 on txt?
I just finished upgrading my 36V TXT to 48V. Installed an Alltrax SR48500, 400 amp solenoid and SW202-48. Purchased from Scotty B. Easy install with the included directions.
I only wish I had done the upgrade sooner. You will love it. |
