I struggled with the decision as well. But having new 36V batteries, I didn't wanna just get rid of them to go 48. I opted for a controller and motor upgrade that will all also work on 48V. So when my 1 year old batteries need replacing I'll go 48 and be even happier. I hit 29 @ 36V series....should be more than enough at 48V.
