Default Stuck on a wiring issue

I finally got some free time to install the parts I got from scottyB, but I cant get it to work, the status light isn't coming on. Im thinking the problem is the microswitches. also, not sure whats what, as it seems that there is some "improvised" wiring from the previous owner.
After looking everything over it seems that my cart is an amalgam of several carts and having 0 experience with a golf cart, I'm hoping that pictures of the setup show something obviously wrong.
I can take more pics if needed or describe which wire is going where..

The control wiring looks like it is installed correctly to power up the controller, so your suspicion about it being a switch is very likely correct.

The attached schematic has the control voltage path to power up the controller highlighted. Your cart has the reed switch bypassed, so start checking for battery pack voltage at the red wires on MS-2.

We made some progress in my email.
F&R ms1 wired incorrect (see the blue wire) but still no + from the pedal box ms so I suspect it is collateral damage.
