Mot-b2
Looking for a motor with more torque. I have a 2008 PDS 36 volt I little while back I upgraded the controller from stock to the XCT 400 with the large solenoid, 2 AWG wires and the cart with stock tires was getting 26 to 27 MPH on the GPS.
now I put on 205/65-10 tires and a 3 inch lift. we take this cart a lot to our vacation place with rolling hills so I want more torque and going to the MOT-B2 looks to be the correct answer will the XCT know a changed motors or will I have to make set up changes on the controller. and can I at this point also switch to 48 volts from 36 |

Re: Mot-b2
just by upgrading to 48v, which is the way to go, will get you 30% more torque right off the back.

Re: Mot-b2
You'll need to load the correct field map for the MOT-B2 that should be provided by your motor supplier or by emailing Alltrax.
And, YES, bumping to 48V at this time would be fine. You will love the extra voltage! |

Re: Mot-b2
Your tires are 20.5" tall and might have fit without the lift.
It'll take about 14% more torque to go the same speed with the same weight on-board, so going to 48V (+33% in torque) will more than offset the torque loss of the taller tires. |

Pedro, You sent me a PM, but your account isn't set up to accept PM's, so I cannot reply to it.
However, in a nutshell, you've got me mixed up with scottieb at Carts Unlimited. https://www.cartsunlimited.net/ |

Re: Mot-b2
You technically don't need to change the charge port. Yours can handle 48v just fine (it actually has beefier contacts than the 48v "triangle" one). Just order a 48v charger with the TXT "D-plug". Just be sure your charger only gets used on your cart. That could save you over $100 on the conversion.

Shipping cost more or less preclude getting batteries anywhere except locally. The Mot-B2 running on 48V will very likely do the job. Personally, I would have a 36V Powerwise D plug put on the 48V charger, but your circumstances may be different than mine. |
