I have mine tied to a cheap SPST switch like JohnnieB described. That way it's on all the time unless I want to cut it off because of extended periods of non use.

Thought I'd update you. I took JohnnieB's suggestion. Installed the switch for carts with headlights. I set mine so that the first key position will turn on the battery indicator (the white wire) and the 2nd position for driving (green & yellow wires). The indicator remains on in the 2nd position too.

Be mindful, those LED graph gauges are horrendously inaccurate.
The type that has the actual voltage readout in bright, blue LED numbers are best. |
