1994 EZ-GO 36v TXT Controller Replacement?
Have a new to me 1994 ez-go 36v txt that is shorting out at the controller. Took it to a shop and they quoted $700 installed.... Any recommendation on a replacement part? I don’t want to spend a ton of money on it (just getting the mail and doing some yard work with it). Interested if there’s a recommendation on why to replace it with. It does have a small lift and larger tires.
Thanks in advance for any guidance!! |

Alltrax SR48400, solenoid and 4 ga wires. Cost a little bit but will be more reliable.

If it’s a 94 it might be a medalist. Is the body plastic or metal? I’d get an Alltrax controller and do it yourself. It’s pretty easy to install and you can program it whenever you want.
Do you have a series or DCS drive system? |

Re: 1994 EZ-GO 36v TXT Controller Replacement?
Thanks for the welcome, lots of good info. The body is plastic and there’s a f/r lever in the middle under the seat if that helps determining the drive??
I did swap the wires for 4ga when I got it and put the bigger tires on. KGSC - I believe that controller you reference is for a 48v. What about one of the smaller Curtis controllers? |

Re: 1994 EZ-GO 36v TXT Controller Replacement?
A couple things- is the FNR switch actually under the passenger side with a long rod connecting it to the handle? If so it’s a series drive. If it’s a silver metal disc with two micro switches it’s a DCS.
Also the Alltrax SR40xxx controllers are all compatible with 36 and 48v. |

Yes. It’s got the metal rod. So drive series.

So any of the Alltrax “SR” models would work. Get a kit from Scotty at cartsunlimited.net.
