Default 1997 Club Car - Regen 1. Black t shape Controller replacement.

I replaced the controller in my 1997 Club car, that had the black t shaped controller. I wanted to share the process and the parts, to help keep these "Cadillac's" of golf carts running! I made a video, it should help. I re-used the existing motor. It was really a "plug and play" set up. Follow the wiring diagram and you are good to go. Before you do anything, check that pin #14 on the Z connector hasn't been pushed out of the plug. it might be loose and that pin needs voltage to turn on the controller. No voltage, no run!

Nice work!

Is your new charger only a 5 amp output? If so, you need to get a higher amperage (~20a) one. The low output of your current one will drastically shorten the useful life of your batteries because it won’t charge them fully.

I hope that was a typo and was meant to say "15A". If not, the 5A is never going to correctly perform the bulk phase of the charge on a pack the large (A/H Capacity) and the pack will have a substantially shorter life cycle...
