I blew the Diode
I take it I put the diode on wrong. Please see the attached pictures of diode and amp install. Also there are a few wires that I'm not sure where they go. Is there anywhere I can get another one of these?

Re: I blew the Diode
The Regen diode (big one) is backwards, the side with the stripe connects on the post with the battery cable.
Also, put the Regen diode ring connectors on Top of the big cable lugs. The solid light blue wire is the solenoid positive activation and connects on the solenoid small post where the stripe end of the diode is connected. The blue/white wire is the solenoid negative activation and it connects on the other small post. You need to cut off the quick connectors and crimp ring connectors on those two wires. The 10ga black wire connects to Controller B-. The four pin molex connector is not used. It may be cheaper to buy a pack of the diodes from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/20-Pieces-10A...5CN/ref=sr_1_5 Last edited by Sergio; 09-03-2020 at 08:27 PM.. Reason: Added Link |

Re: I blew the Diode
It appears maybe then I need to switch the small diode as well?

Re: I blew the Diode
If it makes easier to route the wires or you like better the other way it is fine.
The orientation of the small diode in relation to the small posts does not matter on that Solenoid. The only requirement is that the light blue wire (positive) gets connected with the side of the diode that has a stripe. The same applies to the big diode, the only requirement is that the side with the stripe gets connected to the same big post as the cable that goes to the pack positive battery post. |

Re: I blew the Diode
I received the diodes today. What is the gauge wire that the diode runs on. Appears to be either 16 or 18. Is there a special wire needed?

Re: I blew the Diode
Use 16ga or 18ga stranded wire, ideally no current will ever flow through that diode.

Re: I blew the Diode
Any recommendations on what to check when at full throttle will cut in and out or sputter. Doesn't do it all the time. Motor seems to be getting a little warm but not unbearable to the touch. New speed censor on before the upgrades.

Re: I blew the Diode
Do You have the stock ADC motor?
If so, are you using the EJ4-4001-V9 motor field map? You can also post screen shots of your configuration screens in case we can notice any settings that can be improved. |

Re: I blew the Diode
I am using the stock motor. I have not checked the mapping as it was supposed to be programmed already for the stock motor
