Re: no drive
Welcome to BGW
sounds like a Striped brake drum, first see if you can tell which side of the rear axle the noise is comming from,if thats it,- first-jack the cart up and put it on jack stands, so the wheels are off the ground, chalk up the front tires so it can't move, look in the center of the rim on the rear and if you can see the nut on the end of the axle, if not remove the tire and remove center cover, and there's a nut holding the brake drum on the axle, your going to need some help. have some one sit in the cart and put there foot on the brake, and just touch the go pedal JUST A LITTLE BIT - DO NOT PUSH IT TO THE FLOOR, to see if that nut is turning and not the brake drum, if the nut is spinning and not the drum, the brake drum is striped, get a new one and clean the spline on the end of the axle real good, and put some never seize on the spline of the axle before you reinstall the new brake drum, and your problem is over BGW...or... anyone on this forum, ... Re: no drive
I had this happen to me. it was the rear drum.
Make sure after you replace it that you properly tighten the crown nut. ScottyB told me that it's to be torque from 70-140 lbs. This is TIGHT. |

Re: no drive
if it is the hub , when torqueing the castle nut down DO NOT back off. Keep tightening it to you get to the next spot to put in the cotter pin.

Re: no drive
...If for some reason it is not possible to get to the proper cotter pin alignment remove the nut, add a washer and try again. This will land the tight nut at a different spot.... Proper torque is 70 -140 ft pounds or damtight.
