I had a 2 yr old trojan melt the post right out of the battery and it melted a new hole in the top right beside where it came out. Needless to say, I was glad I had finished the eighteenth hole and was cutting behind 1 tee when it happened. Replaced it with a battery from Sam's Club. They just make 18 holes now after five years or so and must be replaced next year. This was on a 2000 PDS.

The average life for a set of golf cart batteries is right around 4-5 yrs.
Consider it time to replace batteries and cables this winter |
