Default electric torque and power

I need some advice. I have a cc gas with big block upgrade now. I think I want to try an electric cart n build it for hunting and off road trails. What kind of cart should I look to get? Which ones are better and easier to upgrade totally of torque and power?

A series cart.... I might suggest the CC just because the frame weighs 200# less...

I like the 90-94 in 36v boosted to 48v, the 95 & 96 had the pot under the floor which is not good for water ... 97-99 were regen1 & 2 (to be avoided) All 48v carts had On board computers, I would stay away from that silly idea too for a rugged off-road cart.
You could also use any 36v resistor cart and just convert the throttle to a potentiometer and put in the control and solenoid and go!

Ok. Well thank you. Could I get away without replacing the motor right away?

yes, most 36v motors are in good enough shape to run on 48v for a yr or 2 or 3 depending upon their condition and your usage? 48v will give you 30% more torque and speed, A great power combination

My 98 TXT doesn't have regen. It has a potted ITS and a micro-switch under the floor, which might get damaged if submerged for a long time. I did drive it repeatedly across a flooded bridge, where the water was over the floorboard, with no ill effect (lucky?). I cleaned it up good after the flood, (and found a minnow under the floormat), but the ITS and micro were completely dry.
