How big is your 30 kV transformer? If it's oil filled, it may be comparable to the 14.4 kV 25 kVA transformer I have feeding my small Tesla coil in the photo. I have a 34 kV power supply, but it's DC. My big Tesla coil can be seen behind my discombobulated buggy this morning. |

Dad was a pack rat (I get THAT honestly, too - full attic, basement, garage ). He brought stuff home that the power company was tossing out, and used it for HIS mad scientist experiments. No offense on the smack-down - I deserved it - your setup is WAY more impressive than mine. Man, did WE get off-topic, or what!?!? I was planning on taking my cart over to the neighbor's shop today, but my daughter's boss called me the other day and gave me two tickets for the OSU-Penn State game in Columbus. Needless to say, she and I are goin' to the game. Being a WVU fan, I'm not sure who I'm gonna root AGAINST. PSU or OSU? That's a hard choice for me. Getting back ON topic, I hope to get the cart over to the shop tomorrow, and start setting up for the tear down. I'll post more pix (the shop is pretty impressive). RLW |

What's wrong with having a three car garage that can't even fit a single car? |

Re: 84 Marathon resistor cart project
I refer to the basement, attic, and garage as a "blivet". Three pounds of SH17 in a two-pound bag!

Re: 84 Marathon resistor cart project
All my sparky does is wig-wag, which uses high voltage and xenon to produce plasma.
Scares the crap out of underage drinkers and kids smoking stuff they shouldn't be when I sneak up on them then hit my wig-wags. Blue is the color of Police here in Georgia. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=KVm419cBa08 http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=_bzuS08wLkQ |
