Do you mean melted off? That is caused by poor or loose connections. Can also be caused by any source of high resistance like a corroded cable end.

If they are broken and not melted, Are your batteries secured in the trays? They shouldn't be clamped real tight, just snug to where they can't move. Also you should have some slack in the cables. If they are too short, your posts can break right off.

tighten all the bolts down anytime we go out in the cart but noticed some corrosion on one of the posts but not on any of them that ever broke. They just seemed to melt and post comes out or breaks then melt hard to tell which happens first gonna have to play w the cart this weekend. plenty of the wires
Thanks for the ideas guys will recheck everything

The post bolt will pull right up out of the lead if you keep tightening it up at each use... this may have something to do with the problem? Replace all cables, while they are off, clean posts & measure how much thread is exposed on each one.

Don't know Brand of battery or Type terminals, but the torque spec for Trojan Batteries is only 95-105 Lb/In, which is less than 9 Lb/Ft, so if you're using a wrench with much more leverage than a nutdrive with a screwdriver type handle, you might be over-tightening.

In fact, for safety reasons, any wrench long enough to touch two battery terminals at same time is too long to be used in the battery compartment.

I use a nutdriver for tightening and a 1/4" drive ratchet to loosen when I run into a stubborn one.

Shouldn't that be in-lbs and ft-lbs?

Actually in/lb and ft/lb is how I learned the unit of measure also, but as of late, the younger generations are writing it the other way around.
Must be a PC thingy.

Check out the way it is printed in the attachment.
