I think I found me a cart!!!!
Guys,
I'm going to take a look at this cart tomorrow, it's the right deal for me if all go's well. My only concern is that it "needs batteries" but doesn't work at all, so therefore I can't test anything. The bad think is the guy said he hooked a spray rig on it and blew a battery, could he have fried the whole system? What can I or should I do to "test" high cost things like the motor, rear-end, solinoids, controler, etc (anything else I've missed?) Here's what he said was on the tag he found if it helps anything. A401 1340620 thanks! |

Cool beans Wyatt! Others should be along soon to offer advice. I do know the motor can be tested with a 12 battery but I'll let the proper people give the the proper suggestions. Make sure you have a VOM or DMM even a cheapo will do.

Great looking cart, I wouldn't wait, too afraid somebody else would snag it
Don't be afraid, it will be fine. Likely he just killed the batteries like he said. |

Re: I think I found me a cart!!!!
haha! yeah, I'm a little nervous Scotty, but not much choice, the wife is at work and I got kid duty, and the cart is 2 hours away...unless I drag them all along on a 4 hour road trip...hmmmm.
Needing a full battery pack anyway is this a good candidate for a conversion? |

Re: I think I found me a cart!!!!
Not so much a conversion but just an upgrade to 48v ~ That would be nice, it already has a lift and wheels on it... backseat for the kids
Can you find out the directional selector is a lever or a toggle switch? = a lever is Series, the toggle is a PDS drive system. |

Re: I think I found me a cart!!!!
HaHa, yep, the back seat is a must so it's nice I found one with a seat already on it. It's a lever so a series I guess. I'm thinking from the cart Id and SN he got off the tag it's an 01. Yes I'm definatley interested in upgrading to a 48. Do you think this cart is a good candidate or would it be too expensive?

Re: I think I found me a cart!!!!
Should be fine if the cart really does just needs batteries. The main expensive items that could go bad are your cart's batteries, motor, charger and controller. Chargers frequently go out, but you cant test it without good batteries in the cart. Maybe plug into another cart to make sure the charger still works. Also dont know the condition of other electronics. A cheap cart could get expensive quickly.
On the other hand if you're upgrading to 48 volts anyway, then no worries! |

Re: I think I found me a cart!!!!
If the cart has one bad battery in it then barrow one to take with you and check the cart with. You can see if the charger works and see if the cart will run even if it's just enough to see it move. That tells you a lot. Controller and electrical system is good. It would be worth the time to check. Disconnect all the extra stuff and see if it runs. The extra's can be fixed cheaper than the cart can.
Now if the cart has more problems then price should go down. Non running cart with the lift and such as this one I wouldn't pay over $1000.00 for it. If the battery gets it running then whatever price he is asking will be OK.If it's not some crazy price. |

wyatt
I have seen this one on CL, Make sure you look at the frame and etc as well. With the lift and tires, this is a decent price. What do you see this cart doing, and what direction do you want to take it. LH |

Re: I think I found me a cart!!!!
okay, I don't have a 6 volt battery available to me so I may not be able to test it. I think he's at 1k now but said he would work with me. I was going to block the rear end up and turn it by hand to see if I hear any grinding gears I guess other than that I guess it will just boil down to the condition of the frame and some trust on my part! He said the charger was new when he got the cart a couple of years ago but I am going to try to convert to a 48 so it may not matter too much.
