Cool Battery Meter Wiring Help

I have a 2008 TXT PDS EZGO 36 Volt cart. I went to shopezgo.com and bought a Vertical State of Charge Meter for my cart. My thinking was to get a stock one and I thought ezgo would provide instructions. I received the part with no instructions on how to wire it.
It has three posts on the rear of it labeled #1, #2 and #4. There is a spot for another post, but there is not one. I am assuming one is for positive, one for negative and one to go to the key, but have no idea which is which. Can someone please help me or point me in the right direction. Any help is surely appreciated!

Thanks in advance,
Brent

Are your terminals numbered?

PERFECT! Yes they are numbered. Thanks ScottyB Is there a specific way to hook up the positive and negative? On the back of the key switch there are three wires. Which one do I tie in to?

If it's like Scotty's meter you run s negative lead to the main pack negative then tap the positive wire to the white/yellow on back of key switch.

If that is an E-Z-GO OEM SoC meter, I think you have to run two wires to the battery pack or it doesn't keep track of SoC.
It self calibrates 100% to the highest voltage sensed and gets mixed up when turned on and off with keyswitch. Terminal 4 goes to keyswitch and shuts off LEDs to reduce battery drain.

Here's the way E-Z-GO wires it up.

Ok, I understand how to wire it now. What I wondering about the + and - is there a specific battery to hook to? I have noticed on other posts to wire to the first and last battery? I ordered a manual for the cart and waiting on it to get here. I imagine it will have all this in it?

Attach +&- wires to BL+ & BL- terminals as shown here.

Drawing also show where to attach DVM for most voltage measurements when troubleshooting.

Ouch.... You should have checked the STICKY:s first.
The Owner's Manual, Service Manual and Parts Manual found there is what I use for my 2008 TXT PDS.

Also, if you don't have a Freedom Chip, they are available on E-Bay for less than $10.
I get a little over 18MPH with everything stock except the cables.

Cool Re: Battery Meter Wiring Help

I have the freedom chip. I have bought seat covers, wheels/tires, top cover, rivot kit, light kit, battery meter and paint. Getting ready to take the body off and paint it. Once I have it done next month I will post pics. I am going to paint it black and airbrush blue flames on it. Luckliy I know how to airbrush and my neighbor works in paint at Nissan so he is going to base coat it for me and get it ready for airbrush. We will get it cleared and put back together and it should look sharp. I will get this wiring done while I have the body off.
