Default Drive Belt Tension

Hello all,

I have a short video of the drive belt and clutch engagement on my 2001 Club Car DS. My belt does not ride all the way up to the top of my clutch. Do you all think it is operating normally?https://vimeo.com/167725603

Thanks,

Massey

Just by watching the part number on the belt, it looks like the belt is slipping! (but... it could be an optical illusion)

I'm thinking it's time for a new drive belt!

I am pretty sure I didn't have constant pressure on the pedal when videoing. I was operating the pedal and camera at the same time. I didn't notice what you were talking about until just now though. I will pick up a new belt and replace it this weekend, couldn't hurt right? In your opinion could a worn/slipping belt cause my cart not to go up a hill when loaded down? Up until last year it was fine carrying four people up an incline. This year it'll carry one, maybe two people up the same hill.

Save the old belt. It might be needed in a pinch.

Thank for all the comments and advice. I'll keep the old one as a spare.

I replaced the belt this weekend and it seems to have done the trick. I had four adults and two children on the cart and we went from a dead stop up the hill we couldn't make with two last year. I used the cart all weekend with no issues. I checked the belt yesterday and noticed that the edge if the belt(side facing motor) is starting to fray. Haven't sent any reason why it's doing that. Any of you all had that problem?
