Default 48 volt yamaha drive rear noise

I have a 2008 48 volt yamaha drive. It runs great but makes a weird grinding sound when i release the pedal, or if im going down hill. when it goes up hill it does not make noise. same with flat surfaces. only happen once i reach 12mph or i release the power.

Location of tag. Click on picture for better detail. It's on top of the ledge.

Posted a similar thread on this topic about my 07’ Drive with a green sticker axle. After lots of digging and researching other threads I found the problem. It’s the bushing/armature/grommet or whatever you want to call it that sits between the motor and the axle spline. Without the grommet there’s enough play in the spline to slip from the input shaft on the motor and hence your noise when you release the pedal or reach regen braking speed. The part number for the grommet is (OEM part #
JH7-H1829-00-00) I’ll post some pictures of when I fixed mine last week. Just an FYI, the grommet sometimes isn’t as wide as it needs to be and you need to put either 2 pennies between the grommet and input shaft to push it out far enough to properly work. I just used a round piece of rubber the same thickness as two pennies. This took the noise right away and haven’t had an issue with it since. Here is the video and thread I posted.

It’s part #23 on the schematic, I can also take a picture of the grommet bag if you’d like. The part was $2.97 plus $8 for shipping from 2WheelPros.com

Replace that grommet as stated above.
I did and it temporarily fixed my noise. Now mine is back. I'm going to replace the coupler/input shaft over winter on mine

Did you end up swapping out the input shaft and/or coupler? Did that fix the problem? I am having the same issues.
