I really like that color!
I might be biased thou, my first cart I painted it that color.
People either really liked it or not at all.
Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the complement on the color.

I did make sure that the paint (Rustoleum) would be the type that bonds to fiberglass. Also, that is only the first coat. Got 2000grit sandpaper and we will wet sand down and put on about 2-3 more coats. Putting the black pieces next to it really makes them pop. We do like it, wasn't the first pick and our girls had their selections... pink, purple, etc... Now, one thing my wife (who has been working on painting the body) said tonight is that she found a clear coat with glitter and she was thinking that. We did an old PowerWheels jeep and if you don't go crazy with it, it doesn't look too bad.

I got the LED head light kit today and it does fit the holes cut, but some of the old screw holes are showing. Got some filler from O'Reilys and will sand down the holes and fill with the filler. Then sand/paint to make it look smooth.

Paint for fiberglass may not be the appropriate paint for your molded plastic body. most of your parts aren't fiberglass. The problem is that paint for fiberglass is not designed to withstand any flexing. Fiberglass doesn't flex, it cracks. Paint for bumpers and door trim (rubber and pliable plastic parts) is more suitable for that paint job. There is an ingredient that can be added for more flexibility. I suppose it might never be a problem, if you never flex it, or no one ever leans on it. I have seen plenty of paint just flake off due to any flexing at all.

Interesting... thanks for letting me know. I guess we will see what happens. We really aren't that far into the painting yet, first coat so we can see if it doesn't work really.

Just re-read the paint can... it states that it bonds to plastic. So should be good.

Okay, on to the wiring... I am just curious, how do most mount the voltage converter? and with the fuse box and ground strip, can that just be mounted on some wood?

Thanks... that looks good. That is what I was thinking. Since I have limo model where the battery box is behind the front seat (which has all other components) I was really leaning towards mounting it in the battery box as there is plenty of space.

Well, here is a quick update on my project.

We removed the main body panels as I was getting aggravated in trying to run the new wiring harness for the lights and the voltage reducer. This of course makes it easier to paint. We have painted the rear and front 3 times with sanding in between each paint session. We will probably paint 2 more times with wet sanding between. After that, we will probably buff it out nice, then do an acrylic clear coat finish I saw at O'Reilly's auto shop. I think we can start putting it back together this weekend and have it up and running fully before Halloween, which was my time frame.

I don't like the sun setting this early as I can't really work on it that much when I come home from work.

Just want to say thanks to all who have commented and provided suggestions and help with answers to newbie questions.

Well, need to get out my tester again... I thought I had everything wired in, but turn the key, no lights, and no light on the fuse box. The cart does beep when in reverse but not sure about moving forward. Will need to check tonight when I get home.
