hooked up to trickle charger the night before.. I had just installed new lights about a week before this happened and all voltage was checked and was good..it was a Trojan 605 battery.. no signs of any problems before this happened! like I said, I was riding along and BOOM! but the cart kept going. blew the top almost completely off. one post was even blew off the battery..but it kept going.. I got confused and parked it and unhooked the other batteries until I could check them...

yes..same one! I have replaced f/r switch..controller...and several other things.. batteries tested good..

Just throwing this out there but after I saw the comment about cart being under water it got me to thinking. My neighbor had a battery in his cart blow up about six months ago just like yours blew top off and on terminal blown out. He also checked his water levels regularly and charged every night. What he was doing was using tap water to fill the batts. I pulled the top the rest of the way off after draining acid and found that the battery plates had sulficated so that the two plates closest to the terminal that blew off were touching. I surmised that was what caused the batt to blow. Maybe when yours went underwater water got in the batt and caused a similar situation.

Yamahaguy you should have seen my neighbor unass that seat when his blew up I don't think he had moved that fast in 20 years, I was right behind him when it happened. Got a real good laugh out of it after making sure he was ok. Just happened to be the battery right under the drivers seat.
