The one for the B+ to B- will try to protect the controller from spikes that may be introduced while charging from an AC source.

The B+ to A2 is essentially across the armature of the motor where spiking from the motor brushes could become a problem as brushes wear and more arcing is present.

I think it would be ok to use one on each.

Mov's are used in surge protectors. A lot of folks don't realize it but MOV's lose some of there protection after each surge. So for instance if you are in an area with a lot of electrical outages and have equipment plugged into them they eventually become power strips with no protection from a surge. Replace often.

I've only seen pictures of it being between B- an B+, so that is where I'd put it.

Of course, knowing me, I'd probably get two MOVs, install one in each place.

Got my MOV yesterday and re-read this thread before I installed it .

But just gotta give a special shout out to JohnnieB for all your posts here on the fourm. They have help me out a lot , you really take the time to explain the whole picture and that really helps us newbies out trying to figure all this out for the first time .

As it Turns out the MOV came with a great diagram of exactly where to put it .......(sorry I cant help it).

Suspect the former physics student ended up in the shipping department rather than engineering after getting caught with that "diagram" during an exam.
