Default 48v Conversion Alltrax issue

IN the process of converting a 2004 EZGO TXT PDS 36v to 48v. Got the XCT48500 controller, FSIP high torque motor, MJZ400 solenoid from CartsUnlimited long with 2g cables. Finally got everything installed and only getting about 9 mph top speed. It is a lifted cart with 23" tires that are fully inflated. I did have to splice the speed sensor on the FSIP but did so with ScottyB's advice so it is done correctly. Any ideas what could be causing the slow speeds?

Look in the stickies for ITS adjustment. I don't know if this is your issue, but it's a fairly simple check and adjustment.

Please post some screenshots of how the XCT is programmed.
Is speed limiting selected and what the max RPM is set to.
Also, number of poles selected for motor.

9MPH is only a bit over 1600 RPM with 23" tall tires, I suspect the RPM ought to get at least 2 or 3 times that at 48V, but I don't have any specs on that motor.

What speed did you get before and how was the cart set up when you got that speed? 36V stock controller tire height etc.

What is the max inflation pressure stamped on tire sidewalls?
What pressure are they inflated to?

I didn’t program the XCT, it came from CU already programmed for my setup.

Tires are 20 psi max and I am at 19-20 on all do them.

I was getting 23-24 mph on the stock 36v setup.

Also, just realized that the key switch is not working. As in, as long as the FR switch is engaged, it will take off even without the key!

So I downloaded the software removed the speed sensor form the programming. That fixed the speed issue which I believe indicates a bad speed sensor. Why would the speed sensor be bad on a brand new motor? Still have no clue why the key switch is not working either...

Per may email earlier double check that the motor wires are spliced properly and the 2 common colors are joined and then the single odd colors are joined.
If yes can you remove the screws holding the speed magnet on the motor case and see if the magnet itself is broken.

Sorry ScottyB, I had already checked the splices and they were good. But...after pulling the speed magnet, that appears to be the answer. It’s crushed...what now?
