Thanks Walter—-I have to call Alltrax tomorrow so I will double check with them, the people that said use the one I did are Alltrax dealers— I agree with you all tho, if Alltrax supply a diode it should be used, but they didn’t sent one with this controller —— thanks again

Just as an aside— I purchased both the controller and solenoid from the same dealer, would it make a difference than it is a 400a solenoid instead of 200a ?

The 400 amp solenoid functions the same way as the 200 amp solenoid, it just has a higher rated capacity. A solenoid is just an electrically operated switch ... its function is to turn the power on or off.

The solenoid is probably rated for 200 amp continuous and 400 amp peak. The pds control does not use that precharge resistor. It needs a regen diode.

I tried contacting Alltrax, I’m just waiting to hear back from them on the diode and the problem with power going to all posts on the F/R switch

I have tried contacting Alltrax a couple of times, and no response from them, very disappointing I thought they would have been a little more accommodating, I’ll try them again tomorrow and see if they respond

Email may not be their preferred option for contact ... have your tried calling them directly on their support line? I had good feedback from them over the phone.

Yes—- I did call, and got it straightened out, as people on this site stated I got bad info from the supplier, so they are sending me the diode. I also ordered a new wire harness since the problem with power going to the 3 pins on the back of the F/R switch has been the same problem with 3 controllers now. When looking at the new harness I’m wondering if I have mixed up the green and green/black wire, one of which goes to the reverse buzzer, the other one to the F/R switch. If I mixed up on the first controller, then copied the other 2 could explain a lot— can’t wait now to check it in the morning. I hope that’s all it is.
Thanks
