Re: Good Deal on Seat assemblies
If you are handy with tools and can find some stiff foam, its probably just as easy / cheap to build your own. the seat hinges (if you don't have your old ones) can be had on ebay for $15-20ish for a set. Then you just cut a piece of 3/4 plywood and put your old foam (or new foam) on the seat. Marine Vinyl can be had at joann fabrics for pretty cheap as well.
Make sure you use stainless steel staples so they don't rot out. If you don't have access to a staple gun (preferably a pneumatic one to make it really easy) then maybe thats not the cheapest route if cost includes buying a staple gun. But if you have your old hinges and foam, you're only looking at $7 for staples, $25 in plywood (its not a big piece you can probably find somebody with scrap plywood for free) and $15-20 in vinyl. =$52 and an hour or so of your time + hinges = $72 +foam = i have no idea what foam costs or where to even get it I think when I was looking for a seat for my marathon, complete seats on ebay were over $250 so I didn't go that route. |
