RXV charger fault code - 2 red flashes
Our cart was acting up - driving very slow/almost dead. This has happened before and last time I checked the battery fluid and a couple cells were low. I filled them up per the required height with distilled water and that seemed to solve the issue.
Today I saw the Positive lead to the computer was severely corroded - basically broke off with a little wiggle, and some of the other battery terminals had some corrosion - nothing that would make the terminals warrant replacement. I got a replacement terminal at the hardware store for the positive lead and I removed and cleaned all the other battery terminals and coated with battery/anti-corrosion grease. Prior to do this I was getting a measurement of 40v between the pos/neg leads. After this I'm getting 46v. I plugged in the charger to make sure everything is good the charger is wigging out. Will start to charge and then I'll hear some relay clicking in the charger and the Red fault led will blink twice - charger says a battery charge fault. This mean the battery is already at capacity and does not need to be charged any more/can't take a charge? |

Take that charger to the dumpster and enjoy the loud bang when it hits the bottom. The PowerWise QE has failed.
They're like cancer patients. They come terminally ill out of the box. All you can do is possibly extend their lifespan but they all ultimately fail. Go for the DPI you'll enjoy it more. |

The SC-48 will be the same. I'm already starting to see them frequently. Same pig, different lipstick.

I’ve had the same thing happen on a couple different chargers now. Unfortunately the guys above are right. It’s probably done.

Thanks, I’ll look into another charger.
The issue with the slow speed came back. Could any water getting into the accelerator cause a sensor malfunction which could be the culprit? If so, is there a way to remove the connector for the throttle and clean it? |

I replaced the terminal ring for the positive connector as it was severely corroded. I also cleaned all the battery terminal posts again and applied any corrosion/dialectic grease.
This did not remedy the issue. |

The electrical portion of the throttle sensor is incredibly well sealed, and coated with some weird snot, I doubt water could ever touch it.

Re: RXV charger fault code - 2 red flashes
how slow is 'slow speed?'
RXVs have many variations of 'limp mode': 1. Bad encoder: 1-2 MPH maximum, sounds like the motor is grinding/dragging 2. Low battery voltage cutback: half speed, so if the max is set to 19.5 freedom mode, you get 10-11 mph maximum. one or more bad or weak batteries. 3. failing motor brake: usually accompanied by acrid smelling odor, like electrical burning and car eventually comes to an immediate stop. |
