Default Seatbelt install problem

I have a 2017 ezgo txt elite and I am having an issue installing the seatbelts. I've installed them on an older txt in the past with no problem.

Has anyone else seen the same thing and have a suggestion? See attached pictures.

I read a recent review where I think someone had the same problem.

I would get longer bolts and either buy, or fabricate, a piece of steel to go behind the post/pole. That piece should have two holes for the new long bolts. I would also reccomend lock washers.

Note position the steel and nuts on the better side. Ie away from hitting you in the back etc.. if u can.

I have also seen electrical and plumbing clamps that go over pipes. The are like a half moon with a hole on both sides.

Good luck

Thanks. I think the biggest issue is that the whole is to low and the bracket hits the frame. If that whole was a bit higher up, that might do the trick. I might be able to drill a new whole but want to avoid that..

I was hoping the vendor had a longer piece of steel and that might do the trick as well.

I had an 04 txt and didnt have this problem. Its been so long I forgot how I installed that one but know I didn't have this problem.

The kits are very universal, they kind of fit all models, but fit non perfectly. I had to drill holes and modify stuff for it to fit mine.

If you can snap a picture or have one, please share. Would love to see what you did. It might help me with ideas.

Thanks!

I remember now, I cut a new piece of flat bar to sandwich the riser. The picture doesn't show the new flat bar really well, but I remember I cut new ones about 4" long and drilled new holes in them.
