I think you could do better than just one golf cart...

If you have a question about how to TEST the OBC, start a new thread with details of the cart and which Charger you have.
The point of this thread assumes that you've already determined the OBC has failed and are bypassing or removing it to use another charger.
There are a dozen different ways a Powerdrive Charger and OBC combo can fail to work properly. It's not always the OBC's fault, and simply jumping the charger relay to pack negative really doesn't tell you the whole story.

Question,
In by-passing the OBC can the inline fuse on the 10ga black neg. wire on the charge receptacle be eliminated? I'm all about removing possible failure points.

No. You Definitely need to KEEP the Big Fuse on the charge receptacle black wire. That fuse is so the cart doesn't burn to the ground if your charger cord gets damaged, IE an internal short between the positive and negative wires in the cord.

Do you know what amp rating that fuse has?
In another thread the charger receptacle was replaced with a 110V shore power port and a smart charger mounted on board.
I think a fuse or CB should still be installed between the charger and the battery pack.
Or do smart chargers have fuses in the output lines?

I sure do not want to burn my cart to the ground.

Smart chargers typically have some sort of built in short circuit or reverse polarity protection to avoid damaging the charger. But that does exactly NO Good for the CART if the charge cord gets cut or damaged. If you have a short in the cord, and plug it into the cart, you now have a direct short from Pack Positive to Pack Negative, and the charge wires are gonna start glowing like light bulbs in about a half a second.

I don't know what the rating is for that fuse, but it's more than 20 amps. Probably in the 30-40 amp range if I had to guess.
You can get that exact fuse from Club Car. https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/p...r-ds-101796801

If you use a different fuse make sure it is rated to handle 48V. Some fuse ratings are based on a higher or lower voltage which can affect the current at which the fuse will blow out. Also remember that your charger will typically charge around 15 - 20 amps some maybe as high as 25 amps depending on the charger. The Fuse needs to be rated high enough to not blow out during normal charging.

I would guess that, too.
Just have not seen the rating anywhere.
